That is Donald Day in ERA R14B which iirc he's owned since the early 60s. However, that's not Donald - possibly Tony Stephens- in the full face helmet leaving the line.
In my opinion the ERA represents everything that's great about a racing car - it looks right, it sounds glorious, it smells amazzing and it goes like stink.

The roads are closed for the 3 events, they are run like proper Hill Climbs on the main land. The only difference is the big white bales on the side of a public road, rather than a private drive like Prescott or Shelsley. The other club has a classic event in August that closes other roads on the island - including Bouley Bay I hear.I've been twice - once with a friend who hit a bale on the Sunday, and the following year I entered, but had magneto trouble.
