Back in the late 70's early 80's if you had a Mexico or RS2000, you had SPR3's on it. They were a heavy block tread intermediate tyre used by the raod rallying guys. Do thet still exsist or is there a modern equivalent?.

SPR3's..........wow, that's blast from the past.

IIRC they stopped making them way back in the mid 1980's.

I used to nav for a mate with a Mex on road rallies, and remember at the time he needed a new pair and found he could no longer get them. I still had my AVO RS2000 at the time so that must have been mid-80's era, probably about the same time as Goodyear stopped doing the 195/60 RallySpecials (?) which were another popular tyre choice on Mk1's.

I suggest you contact Vintage tyres and discuss it with them They don't do the SPR3 but they'll suggest something equivalent

Don't think they be able to help much with old road rally tyres, not really their field.

I reckon the Yokohama A032R is a close modern quivilent.
