My Bayliss Thomas is fitted with an petrol level indicator, the type of glass tube affair attached to the car dashboard. Have any of you experts out there any leads as to who may be able to replace the glass tube on my car which is currently broken. It looks like the tube is sealed into the top and bottom brass connectors.

Incidently the Bayliss is running really lovely now following a replacement fuel line, new coil, contact breakers cleaned and gapped. When I cut the old copper tube off the union connector the amount of debris that fell out was incredible, it had all settled into a kinda U bend in the tube as it exited out of the tank and thru the bulkhead.

Im afraid my googling and search of the classic car mags has drawn a blank on who might be able to help with instrument restoration, but I am glad to hear its now running well.

Perhaps there is some sort of period 'accessory' fuel gauge you could obtain and fit instead?

Try to find a glass artist who supplies laboratories. A good one can make anything you like in glass, in any shape and any size.

Thanks for the comments.

It has also been suggested to me to try the Model Steam type mag's, should be able to find somebody now to fix me up. Still have to have the speedo head sorted as well, keep saving up I suppose.
