Most certainly will! Will be on the way to Souillac in the Dordogne for a 7 day rally. All contributions to the petrol bill gratefully received thank you.

I will be out and about without a doubt! Not sure yet where to but its a good thing to support the day and show just how strong the classic, vintage and veteran movement is across the Country.

You are of course right. I can't get a magnet to stick to it so it must be fibreglass! I've been sold a pup! hehe

But the 22nd is a Sunday, so what's the point? Most folks with classics will be out enjoying their car on a Sunday anyway.

They should have made it a weekday, a sort of 'take your classic to work' event if they wanted to highlight the classic car movement.

Unfortunately the vast majority wont be out in their classics, too early in the year, too cold, too wet, too many excuses

Fantastic idea but most wont do the Sunday if the forecast is bad

Will be out if I can fix the bloody injectors. And that's not an excuse, i'm just not driving it if it won't even idle properly.

Reminds me of the old Lucas joke:

The three-position Lucas switch: DIM, FLICKER and OFF.

The other three switch settings: SMOKE, SMOLDER and IGNITE

Its not that bad. The system itself is suprisingly simple, it's just that, like anything mechanical, it can go wrong.

The problem with it at the time was that people didn't understand it and mucked about with it, thus exacerbating the problem.

If anything went wrong with the car, people automatically thought it was the injection system.

End of April can't possibly be too early! Do you really mean to say there are people who don't drive their cars come rain and shine? rolleyes

Last year it was the 23rd, St George's Day, which I thought was half the point, so I was looking forward to it being a Monday this year, thinking 'OK they've introduced the concept on a Sunday, next year will be the real thing.' Maybe next year...

Regional centres of the Riley Motor Club have organised drives on April 22nd. I'll be doing a round trip in my RME: Somerset - Hampshire - Oxfordshire - Somerset.

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs has been heavily promoting the day so expect to see a lot of classics out and about.
