TGP series renamed
New name, still sideways
The Thoroughbred Grand Prix series has changed its name. With the official sanction of the FIA and the agreement of Bernie Ecclestone, the series will now be known as the FIA Historic F1 championship as it enters its 13th consecutive year of racing.
The championship has had full FIA status for the past five years, and caters for Grand Prix cars from the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
An eight event calendar is planned for 2007 starting provisionally with the new historic festival planned at Mugello, Italy on 1st April. The series then moves to the Jim Clark Festival at Hockenheim on 29 April, Donington’s GP Live! on 20 May, the Jan Wellam classic at the Nurburgring on 17 June, the Brands Hatch SuperPrix on 1 July, the Hungarian F1 Grand Prix meeting on 5 August, the Spa Historic on 26 August and the Portuguese Classic at Estoril on 30 September.

The Eddie and Patrick movies are fantastic. Helped by the wet conditions I am sure, but still a huge reminder of what technology has taken away from the sport. Some of those opposite lock drifts wouldn't look out of place in a rally car!
