jaeger and smiths seem to be the most common.
looks like you've got a bit of autojumbling to do to see if you can dig up any original brochures.
i have to admit i've not heard of instruments made by cowes, and thats with about 30 years of autojumbling behind me!
perhaps a letter to The Automobile, or maybe Motorsport might provide answers.

Yes its the www.eca-auctions.com
Held at the Norfolk showground this Sunday. Its obviously a car auction + automobilia. I understand that a fair few traders stands set up shop too.
Incidently, I have had a close look at my oil pressure guage and the makers name on the dial is EUREKA
Just finished second libral soaking of the frame and floorboards/bulkhead with woodworm killer. Not a very pleasant job at all crawling underneath the car but had to be done. I had noticed a few fresh woodworms holes and that is enough to prompt me into action. Lucky enough very little damage done and I have caught it in time. Remember looking at a bullnose van last year (well my Bro' inspected it for me) and it was completely riddled with the dreaded worm. Even to the point of wood crumbling in your hand!

Delving around I have now established that the clock that I need to find is a 'Smiths' rim wind version. Of course it had to be the deluxe version of the S'Smiths' range costing 3 times the price of the back wind.
Seen a couple on E-Bay otherwise one is bound to turn up at an autojumble (hope).

they do turn up fairly frequently, and you are still able to pick up bargains as well.
i'd keep an eye on antique shops as well, my dad picked up a rim-wind smiths clock mounted in a pice of wood, made to look like a small mantle clock for considerably less than they go for on dealers stalls at autojumbles!

I see someone advised on another thread you go to Seepdycables for a new speedo. Well I am told if you send them the original clock, they will fit modern innards. I am contemplating doing this for my Bristol and have been advised it's only aboyr £70.
Thanks Hendry, I've resolved the clock issue now but thats a handy bit of info that I was'nt aware of previously.
