Can anyone confirm the thread size for Hillman Imp wheel nuts? I think it's 3/8-inch but haven't got any to check against.

Cheers,
Rich

I found this site which sort of implies they are 7/16"

i would guess that they would be 3/8ths unf as imp wheels could be fitted to minis (and vica versa). they (on minis) used a 11/16th socket to remove the nut.

7/16th is only 11mm which would be far to thin for a wheel stud, even with the small power output from a imp {sniggers}

i wonder if some metricphobe has confused 7/16ths with 11/16ths and done the normal trick of naming the thread size by the spanner that is needed to undo it?

sounds reasonable?

Thanks Prof: looks like 7/16 from this and the website above but I note the comment "These suit Cars with aftermarket alloys or steels", I need ones with the correct curved taper as I'm putting original Imp steels on my Mini.

Just a suggestion, try a classic Mini web site or forum (and PH) that deals with Minis of same age as your car i.e. people who done that sort of thing back then and restorations since so they have the experience and knowledge

Minis are so popular your sure to find at least one person

Good luck, Nigel
