“Drive It Day” - Sunday 22nd April 2007
You don’t have to do anything special to take part – just use your historic classic vehicle that day
As last year the Bears will be adding support by taking cars on The Caper T’other Way tour
The "Drive It Day" initiative is orchestrated by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, more details here (www.sportingbears.org.uk see bottom right of page and further link)
Edited to get link, can't work it out so please go thro' Bears site link

Thanks for the heads up, I shall be out and about in my vintage, no doubt causing untold havoc behind me
Good man, at least you'll get noticed, let's hope it's not for the wrong reason (brake down - car or owner or both, hush my mouth)
I can't take credit tyre-tread told me about it this year
There was something in C & SC about using your car that day on the A25 between Guildford and Sevenoaks.
As there's Classic Touring Cars at Brands that day and I live in Camberley, I'll use the whole of it to get there and back.

I have to go to visit the olds on Sunday so won't be using the old car. Shame it's not on Saturday, use it the whole day, shops via a nice country lane hoon with the missus gripping the seat as I demonstrate gentle four-wheel drift "sweeney stylee" on big fat Avon tyres wherever possible.

H rated I hope !
St George's Day Monday, go out then
We'll be at the Fat Lamb, Ravenstonedale Sunday doing our bit (altho' apparently my car is 8 days too young and for free road tax)
The day is here................but hopefully youre all out and about in your cars!!
Does anyone know of anything happeneing in Buckinghamshire today?? Id love to go see some good old classics. Though, saying that, i did see a fair few yesterday including an Austin Healey 3000 and an immaculate Rover P5B Coupe.

Pulled a muscle in my back Friday so not venturing as far as I'd intended; probably a lunchtime run to the Haynes Museum with a pub lunch - wave if you spot a black/maroon Riley RME with a groaning driver...
I was planning to do a Somerset - Hampshire - Oxfordshire trip to meet some chums - b*gg*r!
Enjoy the day and let us know where you go and what you see on the way - there has been a blue Lanchester cruising locally the last couple of days.

I take it you've checked with the owners' club or Heritage people? Remember it's date of manufacure not date of first registration, so a lot of cars registered in early 1973 will qualify. You just need to show DVLA the build records.
Back from my drive out.
Haynes Museum was hosting a Triumph gathering plus a bunch of MX5s. Browsed the museum shop(bought nothing)and hit the road again - it is a 'drive it' day, not a 'park it' day after all!
Did a 35 mile round trip (the maximum my still aching back would allow) but didn't see much apart from a sign reading 'Tractor Run' but no tractors and a couple of adult sized teddy bears in a Midget; I think it was a Midget, I was so shocked to see two teddy bears driving around I didn't make a note of the car!
