Driving along an A road near Wellingborough, Northants yesterday spotted a GT40 (not something you see everyday I thought!!), yellow with black stripes and literally spitting flames from the exhausts!! The reason I think it may have been original was because its reg number was G** 4C (as in 1965/66 era) and it was being very carefully driven with a Volvo following it's every move as though it was acting as a support vehicle.
Original?? - what do you reckon??

Got any pics?

Check my Spa-blog. Lots of those racers were reps too.

An original GT40 AND a roadcar . . . would be a fantastic spot.

Look up the Reg No on RAC and it gives you the make of car. Not 100% accurate, as some GT40 replicas have been registered as Fords. But it may give the real manufacturer.

Hi Dinkel - Superb pics on your spa blog - I presume that's the annual historic meeting? - I was there 3 years ago acting as pit crew (the most chaotic pit lane I've ever been in! - 2 driver race and old cars!) for my brother-in-law who was racing a morris minor!!! (think each lap took about half an hour )

Hi Canam - Tried the reg on the rac site but nothing came up - also trawled google but couldn't find anything - I guess if it was a real one there can't be many road registered!?

Cheers, just posted #15. Bits of pitlane . . . was given a pitpas to get closer . . . T70 lick looks way better than a GT40 . . . What do you guys think?

Love them both, but the T70 gets my vote, either spyder or GT. But knocked into a cocked hat by the McLaren M6a. And did you hear that Jim Hall is making a 'continuation' run of Chaparral 2E's? If only I had the money for one of those!

This was @ Silverstone, early to mid September, and it seems pretty real to me
