No such thing as a 2-seat fixed-head coupe version of the series 3 E-type. Both the open and closed cars were built on the longer wheelbase. You can even see the the backs of the "+2" rear seats in the interior photo.

It's definitely got the longer wheel base and the 2+2 higher roof line so he must be talking cr*p!

There are two FHC, the later one is built on a longer wheelbase introduced for the V12 I believe. It has a slightly tall windscreen with three wipers. It looks a little clumsy to me. The earlier FHC looks a lot better, actually this is the E-Type I would go for (if I was a rich man, na, na, na-na-na naaaa na).

Unless anyone know better...

the great thing about the v12 is the car was lengthened around the door area therefore is ideal for tall drivers(i'm 6'4' and really don't fit the early cars)

Yes that photo demonstrates why the Series 3 FHC is not the ugly duckling people say. I had a S3 roadster which I sold to help buy a flat, with considerable regret.weeping If you are tall the S1 and 2 E-Types are really very cramped. They are built for guys like Norman Dewis and Simon Dee. The S3 was comfortable and handled well once you got used to the ultra light steering. Even better if you get some of the upgrades which are now available. If I find out how to do it I'll post a pic of my car.

This car looks as if it has had the rear seats folded down for more luggage. No idea what rarity the silly bugger is on about. He would be better of saying what terrific condition its in. Thats what counts with E-Types. Any evil can produce a few pretty pictures.

I do by the way have a brochure from a Motor Show at the time illustrating the S3 4.2 which of course they never built. And they sure never built any V12 two seat coupes

Jaguar built three E-Type Series 3´s with 4.2 engines. They were numbered Ex (for experimental) 1, 2 and 3. In 2000 I was offered EX3 ( a willow green Coupe) for I think, 15,000 pounds. Within the last 6 months a further example (which one I forget but not EX3) was the subject of an article in Jaguar World & had previously sold for about 20,000/24,000 pounds. I did´nt buy the example offered because I thought it was a bit to way out. A bad mistake in retrospect.
