Purchased in March and still have'nt had a run out. Problem with the electrics side of magneto. Contact breakers were shot and I decided to send the mag away for a conversion to electronic ignition. It can easily be converted back again if a future owner so prefers. The mag has been stripped down and a electronic ignition system designed to fit. The engineer also found several faults with the mag and these are being put right together with a general refurbishment of the unit. Hope to have the car on the road by end of this month. Total cost thus far on the mag is a wallet busting £360 + vat

Had to buy two new tyres for the Austin ready for MOT, £100 each.

No beer for me this month

Still would'nt swap my oldies for anything.

Had you thought about driving it around the world, but only through countries that drive on the left?

Is the conversion just to the mag or a replacement to the mag? Who is doing the work? (For magneto rebuild, I've used Alan Fairbrother and other say use Tony Stairs)

Jon Jolly (jolly Engineering) is doing the electronic ignition work for me, he is retaining the mag' whilst adapting it. I hear he has a excellent reputation for his work and have read up a little on his company. As I mentioned earlier the mag can be converted back to original at a later date if a future owner requires this.
