I drove my Austin out yesterday for a round trip of about 65 miles around south Norfolk area. Saw 5 other historics on the road, I wonder if the 'event' will be deemed an success and will it become an annual run?

The FBHVC called for all Historic clubs to get their cars out on the 23rd to show oldies in use.

Many local clubs organised events based on this idea.

its a pity it takes a 'special' day to get owners out in their old cars.

It was more of a pity that it rained all day down here.

I believe the idea was to demonstrate the strength of the classic car 'movement'in an on mass event.

As for me, my old 1928 Austin and I managed 2000+ miles on local runs last Summer

We're lucky to be blessed with a very short commute (15 mins), a favourable climate and garaged parking at work - so if its not raining the classics get their legs stretched as often as possible.

(Incidentally, in the work garage this morning when I arrived there was among others a Series 1 E-type, a Merc 280 SL, an MGB Roadster, a Triumph Stag, and a DS Decapotable Like minds.....)
