I loved these as a kid, I remember them being released. The garage where I get my TVR sericed has one which I think he is going to restore, and it does tug my heart strings every time I see it.

I've loved them since I was a kid too and was bought a Matchbox one. When I found mine it looked like this.

And here's the moment we lowered the restored shell onto a new chassis from Lotus.

Still plenty to do though !!

Wow Tony, that looks like a lot of work! Renault or Lotus-Ford?

Thanks guys, it's an early Twin Cam so it has the small valve Lotus/Ford engine with the early Renault 4 speed gearbox and yes it was and still is a lot of work - It had been in a light shunt so needed bodywork, if it was steel it was rusty or bent, the trim was shot .... oh and the engine was in bits, but it was all there and best of all it was Pistachio Green - Groovy Baby !! Haven't got a website (good idea though) and all of the pics are pre digi, but here a few more that I have scanned.

Tony

Rear view - still in the hedge

Recovered - now the fun can start

Nice new Chassis/Subframe

Ready to go home

When will 'she' be ready to drive?

A shame only a few of these little baskets survived . . . polyester bodied so how on earth?

Please keep us informed.

Cheers, Dink.
