The baby V8 420 is a nice motor ...but quite right BG, it ain't the full monty. 420 to 500 is useful step ...500 to 560 is same again.

Ignition modules for the 420 cost a bloody fortune - like £1200 compared to £300 for the engines on either side... and they're like hens' teeth...

...which reminds me, does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 420 engine... at some point I've got to build a replacement for one of those modules and it'll involve getting the hardware as far sorted as possible without seeing the car...

A few years ago a friend of mine turned up at a BDC meet (he was the club chairman at the time) in a very tidy 500SEC, Princess Diana was the 1st owner, but didnt keep it very long as it was German, funny how she had an Audi cabriolet a few years later.
