At a car show a couple of months ago the owner of a 60s car informed me that it was the only car ever (!) on which the doors were interchangeable left to right prior to the hinges and handles etc being fitted. Who has such a trivia filled brain?? Any guesses?

Surely must be a convertible - how could a framed door be interchangeable? The front edge always sweeps back in line with the windscreen...

Hmmm...good point.
I've studied some pictures and the convertible version is, as you correctly deduce, symetrical, BUT the hard top, although a frameless main window, has a quarterlight....

i suppose if you had a largeish saloon with suicide front doors, and conventional rear doors, they could be interchangeable diagonally.

if you look at something like a Singer Hunter (the 50's fibreglass one), the front and rear doors look very similar bar the quarterlight and chrome strip, so perhaps they were interchangeable.
