I came across this earlier whilst browsing and thought how refreshing it was to see a relatively modern classic that has put a proper shift in . I despair of these People that buy especially Sports Cars and never seem to drive them , what's that all about ?
I have just rattled up 17500 miles in less than a year with my Cayman 4.0 GTS that I bought new last November . At 60 unmarried with no kids what do I care about future residuals ?

That's a typo. MOT history says 52,946 miles at 9 October 2009.

The driver’s seat says otherwise.

Lovely car. I’d change the wheels, but the 635 is a fabulous classic. Yet another on the “should have bought one 20 years ago” list.

^ ^ ^ The econometer, seems an odd addition to such a car, I wonder if anyone managed 50+?

It does happen. In 2001 I presented my 10 year old SAAB 900 T16S for MoT, which it passed without issues (no advisories in those days). The tester commented that it was lovely and clean underneath, but so it should be for 23,000 miles.

"Look at the speedo again".

"Oh...".

The big boys M635 CSi did without it!

This honey failed to sell last month - wonder what the reserve was? Correct BBS wheels, manual and 280 bhp!

Good honest condition, from the photos. Will be interested to see how much this goes for, I've always admired the 6er

I think I did some work on that car ~20 years ago.

Great cars, I had 2 and so well built.

Nice to see one that’s honest & hasn’t been clocked multiple times.

My white one was on 189,000 in 2004.
My E30 320i was on 208,000 around the same time.

No reason at all why it shouldn’t do the same mileage again with thoughtful preventative maintenance.

Those rear arches have seen some filler! laugh

It's got buffalo leather which needs some hide food sharpish.

It looks nice in Lachs silver with the dechrome but it's a rough old thing close up. Multiple dubious inner wing repairs plastered with textured stone chip, and the coolant level sensor bypassed with a bit of wire and some crimp connectors doesn't inspire confidence.

Terrible wheels from an E39 as well.

For £4000 or so it might be okay if it doesn't st itself on the way home but it doesn't want to be much more. It'll never be a nice one.

Dunno about nice but it'll never be worth much. It looks good enough to just use and you won't be precious about it.

Looks like some clown tried to open the bonnet from the front OS with a tyre lever.

Someone fancies it and at that mileage your money would be on a Private Individual rather than a Dealer

Having owned a 635i I would just comment that they are very skittish in wet weather and that tyres today are very expensive! Around £400 per corner if my memory serves.

I always ran mine on 16” alloys with modern tires.

245 50 16 rear & 225 55 16 front if memory serves.

Sorted a lot of the skittishness out by not being on TRX’s.

I think the pic on ACA had it running wheels from an E39, maybe to avoid the metrics?

Mine was also huge fun in the wet.
