123 Ignition service parts

Hi. I have 123 electronic ignition on my Fulvia. It was fitted about 10,000 kilometers ago. All works well but I wonder what the expected service life are for the distributor cap and rotor arm. I want to keep performance at its peak and would rather replace before failure or degradation.

Distributer caps and leads may well fail over time, the material used these days seems to be inferior to that used 'in period'!

Run the engine when it's dark and look for stray sparks was the advice given, but replacing every five years or so may well br prudent.
