Spotted this beauty near home (Thirsk) last week. Not compliant with the Traffic Signs Manual , and I bet pre-dates it by decades. James Herriot 's Austin Seven not pictured...

Library picture, but I saw this actual sign in 2007 while touring Australia's east coast. The Cassowary is a huge flightless bird a bit like an emu.

Is that Salisbury plain?

To be fair if you drive that bit of road at night when they are on night training, they can be a bit of a surprise.
