Seeking recommendations on best classic car insurance brokers pls.

I’m just finishing a year long but and bolt restoration of my 1970 MGB GT and am getting ridiculous quotes (or classic car insurance has gone up significantly since I last insured the car).

Currently getting quotes of £500pa on a limited mileage policy for a 47yr old driver with clean license.

Before the restoration the premium was £90pa.

In my experience, Howdens in Bicester have done me well. Marcus Atkinson 01869 943496

That's a ridiculous quote.

Try Classicline and Heritage.

I'll be very surprised if the premium isn't 30% of your quotes so far.

Try ERS via Bertie Gilbart-Smith at 0118 932 1400. I insure two modern cars, two classics - including one worth £200k - and a restoration, for £1500. And it scarcely went up at all this past year.

I’ve just insured a 1944 Ford GPW jeep, £86 on a limited mileage policy, and a 1972 Vauxhall Firenza £120 on a limited mileage policy. Both insured with Adrian Flux, can’t fault their service or prices.

Thanks all. I’ll work through these on Monday morning.

Sounds like I should be able to find something far more reasonable

My car isn't 20 years old yet but I've used Adrian Flux and Chris Knott a few times and paid less for my BMW Z4M than you got quoted!

Footman James and Lancaster also have classic schemes.

I use Adrian Flux for me Triumph with a limited mileage of 1500 miles and costs me £76 a year

earlier I was with Footman james and it cost me £120 as I had a claim on my daily car which affected the premium on this (this was a few years back)

I've been with Footman James for years, still happy with cover and cost.

I found Lancaster ok and Chris Knott excellent. Similar prices but Chris Knott was just great to deal with.

I used One Call, who acually sold me a policy with Ageas OptClassic Car, £93 including a £20 Breakdown Cover!

It was only when I needed the breakdown assistance 36 hours after paying that I discovered that I could not be recovered with the first 14 days of the policy's life!
