Slightly unusual version of what car is this
Discussion
Inspired by a scrapyard thread in general gassing, for some bizarre reason a national kids Saturday programme was hosted at our local scrapyard, Ron Morton’s in Carlisle in the mid-late 80’s.
The fact Kylie (!) etc were there, the challenge in the context of this thread is to identify as many cars as you can… (Allegro’s don’t count as they are obvious). Possible for some weird Eastern Europe stuff as they were quite popular up here at the time.

Is the two-tone yellow & brown van a Simca 1100?
That's what I thought. I spotted a Mk2 Escort, a Viva HB right at the top, and the the front of a Marina.I can't place the white car that looks to have had the grille and headlights removed though. It's towards the end of the vid.
Talking of which. Well. Let's just say it was significantly improved with the sound off, and would have been massively more interesting without those two sad acts spoiling the view of the cars.
Interesting fact, my late father in law was there working as a graphic designer for Border TV and asked for an autograph for his daughter and Kylie blanked him.
I've long suspected the autograph wasn't for my now wife seeing as she was only one and a half at the time but if he was a Kylie fan before this, he wasn't after!

From what I can see, that looks like the "BL" corner of the scrappy, almost everything is BL except for the yellow van which has been craned in for the video (I thought Peugeot 304 rather than Simca)and the forwards opening bonnet white car up the top (I thought Saab99 which at the time would have been rare enough in scrappies not to merit it's own area). And the Fiat 126 just below the Saab which someone else mentioned.
Every thing else looks BL or related (including the Jaaag)

Agree with most, but top left isn’t a mini (as in a modern one), it was filmed in 1989. Edit - now I look again I think I was fooled, apologies.I got my first cricket bat from that scrapyard, an adult sized one that was in the boot of an Austin maxi. Despite Ron knew for a fact I nicked loads of car badges, he gave it to me, and I went on to play cricket (with that bat!) in Carlisle under 14’s. He was both kind and occasionally terrifying!
He had the most scary guard dogs you’ve ever seen.

Including Border Crack and Deekaboot? (For non-border users, an affectionate term for the local news programme called ‘Border News and Lookaround’).I've long suspected the autograph wasn't for my now wife seeing as she was only one and a half at the time but if he was a Kylie fan before this, he wasn't after!
