Around 2003 I had a 1967 Daimler V8 250 which I'd paid about £5500 for, well under market value. It was a good car, restored bodily and with a sweet engine that was quite capable of daily use - which it got, for about a year.
The interior was original, and what would now be described as patinated or characterful. Basically it was a bit scruffy, but so comfortable and in keeping with the age of the car.
A job change meant I had to sell and I advertised it at £7500, which was probably about right at the time. It took an age to sell, I believe because the interior didn't match the condition of the body, eventually going to a Scotsman who lived in Brussels and who blew it up on the QE2 Bridge on the way to the Channel Tunnel.
