Vanditos Vanjam...
Discussion
Just back from this year's Vanjam, an annual event held by our custom van club, The Vanditos. Archie, my '64 Chevy wasn't there as we attended in t'other half's little MG van. I wasn't able to stay this year due to having been ill, so missed the evening entertainment, but caught the mayhem and carnage of the radio control van drag racing! And very competitive it was too... possibly, no more so than the Ladies' bean flicking tournament tho'...
I know it was a sell out with a limit of 100 vans, weather may have kept a few away, but still more than plenty to guarantee a good weekend.
A few pic's of vans for any one who may be interested... if you're into U.S. custom vans from the '60s, '70s and '80s, look us up on Facebook.

What's this 'Ladies Bean Flicking Contest'?
I'm afraid I can't say any more due to P.H. decency guidelines! You'll just have to build a van and turn up next year! There were some sausages involved as well... and a choice of Heinz or Morrisons as weapons of choice...Joking apart, the organisers come up with some wacky competitions/entertainment, as well as several d.j.s, some of the most amazing trophies ever for classes such as "Deepest Shag" (referring, of course, to the favoured interior floor coverings of these old vans), or "Funkiest Aroma" and provide "goody bags" and crates of free beer - all brewed, bottled and labelled by our resident wizard.
