What is your dream classic?
Discussion
Just wondering what is your dream classic car? In other words, if you had the opportunity to personally drive just one aspirational classic car for the day then what would you choose?
Loads of options, from 60's 70's coupes, rally classics, to more modern classics. But lets keep things realistic and acheivable, so perhaps cars of say under £100k only.
Would be great to hear what the most popular dream cars are.

1969 Dodge Charger.
Probably get a very nice one for under £100k still (prices are all over the place and a bit mental with shells fetching 5 figures) but I'd love to do exactly as you say, drive one about for a day.
For me, just a total event to be in and around let alone drive. Doesn't matter that they handle like a ship and they're too big to fit anywhere

If it's just for a day... some old aero engined beasty would be nice, or some similar special/hot rod. I can drive coupes, sports cars and go faster saloons any day of the week. Might as well make it something a bit different...
Weather might be a factor...
Maybe something like this...

It’s not changed since I was about 7 years old. I’d still absolutely love one now, even though I may be disappointed with one - after all I’ve read and learned about them.
I’d probably learn to live with it as I’ve had this burning desire for what is effectively 44 years.
Lotus Esprit S1 in white with the green plaid interior. I swear, if my lottery numbers ever come up, and if a good one was available - I’d buy. In a heart beat.

When I was young my dream classic (only just a classic then) was the TR6. And the dream current model was the Audi Quattro. Modest tastes really. I also wanted a 308 GTB but as they say never meet your heroes. 288GTO might be different but that's out of budget.
I've found that price does not equal fun so if I won the lottery and could afford a big house the only other cars I'd buy would be 'my' GT6 (if the chap who owns it choses to sell) and a 2CV.

My next dream car when I was a School boy (after the Esprit) was a MK 1 Scirocco Storm which I went on to own, and last month was my 30th anniversary of ownership.Probably get a very nice one for under £100k still (prices are all over the place and a bit mental with shells fetching 5 figures) but I'd love to do exactly as you say, drive one about for a day.

I once showed it at a classic car show a few years ago and a chap turned up in a Dodge Charger. I’d never seen one in the ‘metal’ before. My only experience was seeing them on tv doing massive jumps…
I honestly couldn’t get over how big it was! Just mind blowing. All this talk about how big modern cars have become - and I agree. However a Charger looks like a different scale altogether.
Of course I’d love a Miura, or a 288 GTB, I’m thinking of in the realms of realistic.
At £80k I would politely request that I can spend the other £20k on a 5-speed LT-77 gear box, and unobtrusive Air Con system, a 123+ dizzy and a rebuild on the carbs.
That I think would then give me the perfect GT.
