Registering South African VW in UK
Discussion
Fairly straight forward.
1. Have car MOT'd (yes it will be exempt but wthout the DVLA will send an inspector to your house to give the car a once over prior to processing your registration request).
2. Request the V55 application from DVLA via their website.
3. Complete form and using user guide.
4. Submit documentation required (copy of you passport, Utility bill/bank statement, SA registration doc also known as NATIS (make sure this doc shows vehicle status as "Used" and not "Built up" ) + the initial registration fee (approx £56) (you need a postal order from post office).
5. Circa 5 weeks later you should receive UK registration docs all being equal.
