Any help with these vehicles would be appreciated
Discussion
These pictures are from a stack of old negatives belonging to my grand parents. They seem to be with other pictures around their wedding/ honeymoon, but equally they could be out of order.
If this is correct then it would put them at 1930.
I think the first one is of my grandmother, but I would like to know about the vehicle and what it may have been used for. A long shot would be the location and year.
I am having difficulty making the second one out. Is it the to deck of an open top bus or is it just a truck with a single level of seats. Also it seems to me that it is careering down a hill side towards a telegraph pole.
Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Many thanks for the replies - they have opened a whole new world..
I was struggling with Hurst and Ditching as I couldn’t get past the U3A responses in Google.
As they are two different places, do you think they went between the two villages? If so, I presume that the stationary picture could have been taken in one of them
Also saw that the UF reg was used between 1925 and 1933 and issued by Brighton. UF6473 is on a 1930 Leyland bus operated by Southdown
The guy with the white hat is presumably the driver.
There are quite a lot of pictures of Brighton and the surrounding areas, so i am thinking it was their honeymoon destination. Will carry on looking
I presume it would look something like this

Might be worth contacting Amberley Working Musuem as they have a number of old Southdown vehicles.

Also the filming location for Grace Jones being blown to smithereens in A View to a Kill.
I grew up in Hassocks, which is between Hurst and Ditchling.

Although I'm probably not taiking about your era, was it a nice place to grow up and was it a tourist area?

Very much not my era but certainly Hassocks had a “pleasure gardens” which could well have been the sort of attraction that would draw in folk from Hurst and Ditchling (although both are in reasonable walking distance). Here’s some info:Although I'm probably not taiking about your era, was it a nice place to grow up and was it a tourist area?

Thanks for the link Miniman. I can't open the photos, but I presume I need to sign up to see them.
As I mentioned earlier there are a lot of Brighton and surrounding areas. Some places I can't identify.
I think this one is in Brighton and thought it may be of interest here.
That's the Old Steine in Brighton:As I mentioned earlier there are a lot of Brighton and surrounding areas. Some places I can't identify.

That's quite touristy being just up from the pier/sea front. I would guess that the bus to Hurst and Ditchling would have been used for a trip over the Downs as Ditchling Beacon is a renowned beauty spot so maybe they were getting on and off the bus as a day trip.

First one looks like Cuckfield Road in Hurstpierpoint. I've lived in Buckinghamshire for the last 32 years but grew up in Burgess Hill and went out with a girl much further down Cuckfield Road while at college.

ETA: I realise the question was about the car and not the location, but my scatty brain is scatty!

Thanks for the link. I am realising that it is also about the location as I am getting a feel for what the area they were travelling around was like.https://maps.app.goo.gl/1FatRxkHrrttYgCq9

There are several of this place at Small Dole and I wasn't sure why, but it could have been one of the places they visited on this trip

As you say it could well be that they took the bus out of Brighton as there are a lot of pictures of the South Downs.
I also found this with Google, which provides a wider and more elevated angle of the photo.
