I've got this picture and I'm trying to identify the cars in it. I think the racing car might be a bit of a stretch, but can anyone give me a pointer on the Station Wagon tow car?

It looks like a Chevrolet badge. At a guess I would say around the mid 50's but the lights don't match

The bike is 1964 Honda CZ100 Monkey Bike

That's a mid/late 1950s Cadillac known as series 62. Details on this link,

Pretty sure it isn't, the cars in those don't look the same.

Yep.

Not the same. In fact Cadillac never made a wagon. The car in that link is a converted hearse (or flower cars as the yanks called them, and converted by a 3rd party, not factory made by Cadillac)

I thought a '50s Chevrolet Bel Air Wagon, because of the dropping swage line, but I can't find an exact match. The rear window shape (with the little curve up in the middle) doesn't seem to be from a Bel Air

Bingo!

Knew I could depend on PH to have a least one 1950s Americana nerd smile

Thank you

I think the racing car is a Brabham BT6 Formula Junior, like this one (which is the prototype):

...or this one:

Look at the cutouts for the suspension pick-up points, angle of roll bar and shape of the 'screen.

How about a Honda-powered BT18, hence the connection with the early Honda Monkey Bike?

Could well be, but none of the images I can find show an 18 with suspension cutouts that match "our" car.

It isn't Roy James, the most notorious of private Brabham FJ racers. Definitely not Honda powered - those engines were always works entries and never sold to the public.

Top marks. I underestimated the PH Hive's nerding abilities it seems!

It is very likely to be a BT6 because the guy on the right in the photo is Mike Hailwood, who drove a Brabham Junior in 1963
