From what I can see on line, the last keeper change was 09/06/1994 so the same year that you sold it. Can you remember the person you sold the car to or the dealer you dealt it in to? Was it someone local to where you lived at the time?
If it was sold locally, there’s every chance it’s still local-ish as cars didn’t seem to get sold as much out of local areas as they do nowadays so if it was my old car, I would visit established MOT garages within 10-20 miles maybe of where you sold it from armed with a good printed photo of the car (not just on your phone etc) and ask if they’ve seen it. Someone may recognise the car and it’s good order makes it stick in their mind and might agree to pass your details on to the current owner. Well worth a try

Good god not this crap again It's about as pointless as those still suggesting the use of the DVLA V888 forms, etc when this comes up on other threads and when people say they want to track down a car because they think the owner will sell their reg plate to them - GDPR (and associated changes) ended this a few years ago.If it was sold locally, there’s every chance it’s still local-ish as cars didn’t seem to get sold as much out of local areas as they do nowadays so if it was my old car, I would visit established MOT garages within 10-20 miles maybe of where you sold it from armed with a good printed photo of the car (not just on your phone etc) and ask if they’ve seen it. I was the EU that the good old DVLA bent over to. But we aren’t in the EU any more, so why the f don’t DVLA reverse this lunacy and start taking all of those £ fivers from V888 forms ?? V888 - Reasons for DVLA supplying someone else's personal data without that persons permission;

Down trod this all you like, worked for me not that very long ago.OP, I’m not sure where you live but there are still quite a few very active local area Capri and Classic Ford clubs that might be able to help too.

D reg would be one of the last.
I’m not a Capri nerd, (although I know to identify an early shell from a late one via the tow hook) but I’m assuming the Capri body shells were assembled and stored in a different location to the Escorts , Orion’s and Fiestas of 1986 that rusted prematurely.
