I test drove one at Duncan Hamilton's back in the day. I think he px it for a lotus engined AC Ace. Needless to say it wasn't in his main showroom but rather in a barn a little way away..
Nice enough car but I forget why I didn't buy it. I think they had one or two on and off so might be worth a call to pick their brains if nothing else comes up.

Is there an owners club for the Evante? That's the Vegantune developed Elan built in the 80s / early 90s. I am trying to find the moulds for the MK1 body and I read somewhere that they are held by the club...but I cannot find the club. Any help would be much appreciated.
There’s certainly an owners club, being a bit of a Lotus enthusiast I’ve seen Evante’s at a few shows/ race meetings. Think it’s called Club Evante but I’ll check.Edited to add: I’m pretty sure I saw Club Evante at last years Silverstone Festival, will try and dig out the event programme tomorrow and see if it has any contact details.

I've checked the '22 and '23 Silverstone Classic/Festival programs.
They show Club Evante attending both events but give no useful contact details, the '23 program indicates a Club Evante Facebook group but i'm not sure it still exists.
I would try searching Lotuselan.net, a couple of years ago a forum member wrote a piece on the Evante. It's still available and has contact details for the author, may be worth contacting them.
Good Luck with your search.
