Hampton court concours of elegance
Discussion
Hi,
I've been asked to take my car to this event.
I've been as a visitor in 2019, loved it.
Anything I should be aware of as an owner.
I may well drive my car there, followed by main car, will they let both cars in?
Car is not super flash, it's a JPS Esprit 1979, very tidy car one of the best.
I don't do car shows as I just couldn't stand the though of been in a field sat next to a car repeating stuff over and over, so never done one, but I rather fancy this event due prestige (have a day pretending I'm posh) and curiosity.
If anyone has attended with a car I'd be interested in your thoughts about the day.
Thank you.

Nice on all three counts!
You could just park it, put a print-out of info on the car and bugger off to the bar for the rest of the day.
When I've attended such events, I will do a walk-around to check out other people's cars. I might sit in my car and play on my phone for a few minutes in case anyone wants to talk to me about it but tbh unless they're asking about driver experience then anything they want the answer to is but a click away on Google.

Answer depends on what you are doing. If you are entering the concours proper the car will need to be in position throughout the event with an owner or owner's rep. on hand. The organisers have detailed rules and info. and I believe there is still a tour beforehand which is optional.
If you are in a club display then the display is typically for a single day (as different clubs display on different days). You will be required to assemble off-site in a holding area before general opening and then drive in convoy through the park to the display. You are not expected to head off early although several people do. Info is normally distributed through the clubs.
There is an interim event where clubs put forward their best car or cars and these compete together for an overall award. This is one day only and cars assemble off-site in the same way as the club displays.
You don't get extra parking with the club displays but you almost certainly get additional forward parking with the proper concours.

We've got an Irish Setter. They're bonkers.
I have English setters as well, and in the past Gordon setters. On a nutter scale they rate from nutty to super nutty, English, Irish, Gordon, on the dopey scale, English, thick as st, irish, then brainbox gordons, and on the Faithful scale English (don't care I'm busy mate), Gordon, Irish (here I am always). This is Dr Watson

That's a lovely dog.
Our Irish is now 13 months old and having her first "show". She has a habit of running at top speed straight towards a tree and veering away at the very last minute.I'm just waiting for what appears to be a loud snap and a prone carcass.
Sorry to go OT.
The Irish in the first pic, had a habit of running flat out into goalposts, seriously dazed sometimes. Our Irish is now 13 months old and having her first "show".
