Nonchalantly parked in Macdonald's car park last night, complete with rear trade plate held on with masking tape.

I only had a quick look, but if it's a replica, it's certainly no home build mx5/Z3 bit of fibreglass.

Did you make a note of the plate? Might be a genuine Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta, it certainly looks the part if not, as you say a very expensively-made replica if not real.

The only number plate was a trade plate located where the number plate should be (and could have been underneath)

It was held on with copious amounts of masking tape which looked ****.

It was dark, but the interior (often a dead give away) looked the biz and like the real thing.

I've just been looking at online pics of Ferrari 250 GT Berlinettas - It's an incredibly good replica if it's not real.

Looks like the real deal...LHD, protective cover on the seat, deep dish wheels, broken wiper!

Astonished that such a valuable car would be left unattended though. Worth £5m+ if it is indeed a real one.

Front grille looks a bit odd (more like a Lusso), plus the indicator repeater, and the scuderia shields... Possibly a GTO Engineering rep?

The real deal picking up a meal deal?

Just going by the photo it has the look of genuine one.
Clearly driven by much more of an optimist than me. No way I’d park something like that, somewhere like there.

Repeaters are spot on and correct style and location to many a SWB (obvs race only ones didn't have them)

Not quite the same league, but reminds me of the time I bumped into a mate picking up the bacon baps for his mechanics one Saturday morning.

He was in his overalls driving the Testarossa he had in on SOR.

Mind you, we're talking 20 years ago so I think it was 'only' up for about £30k.

Its easy to identify a fake, they all just don't look "right"

I'm also going to stick my neck out and say that its the real deal, possibly the GTO recreation, no idea how many they've made so far, can't be many and LHD unusual unless its as has been said before in a shakedown for delivery etc.

Without the overriders/bumpers etc, it could even be a Comp - and if its a real SWB, then its more like £8m+

ETA - OP - whereabouts did you see it? GTO are Reading way from memory.

I'm kicking myself for not taking a couple more pics.

It was in Abergavenny MacD car park, (South Wales)

I've been looking at the GTO Engineering "replicas" (When really I should be updating the company H&S policy).

Fake it a harsh word for a lovingly hand build car on a 250 or 330 Ferrari chassis, and it gets my vote .

The dash, fuel filler and vent in the rear screen were all the same as the pics on their web site
There are photos https://www.gtoengineering.com/revival

I think it's a good rep. Spinners look wrong as do painted rims (nearly always chrome), also metallic red paint not really a colour you see them in, I can't find another.

with the plastic seat cover thing, hope it wasn't a Ferris Bueller style Mcdonalds run from a mechanic!

I know Ron quite well, he's done well in life.

I took this photo of him in the USA, proudly showing off his 599. He said he was looking at adding a classic Ferrari to his collection. I guess this is it.

But seriously exotica do pop up in unusual places. Like the genuine Ferrari 250GT California that I saw parked outside a charity shop in Dymchurch (Romney Marsh) a few years ago.

The Marsh is also famous for an accident involving Micheal Schumacher in a rental van many moons ago...
