Regarding Post Office exempt car Taxing receipts, client & schemes used,

Someone got a receipt from Post Office and comparing it with others it says different Client & Scheme, and comparing other cars it is sometimes swapped from one to the other.

Some say:
Client: D.V.L.A.
Scheme: Licence-MOT/New Vehicle
Svc: 2

Others:
Client: DVLA MVL Services
Scheme: V5C/V5C-2 Chges COFTC
Svc: 1

AND:
Others:
Client: DVLA MVL Services
Scheme: V5C/V5C-2 No COFTC
Svc: 1

I believe they relate to taxing MOT exempt cars but wonder if some are wrong, if it matters regards ANPR and being pulled for no MOT and what the schemes are and COFTC stand for?

Possibly one for Post Office workers.

Anyone / workers able to explain how the system works behind counter would be good to know.

Cheers,

COFTC is Change Of Taxation Class so likely it was a Motability car initially registered disabled but changed back no the normal class.

Many thanks,

Any idea why receipts stating Licence-MOT/New Vehicle would be on a vehicle well over 3 years old?

A friend thinks PO did it in error or to make sure MOT and TAX exemption recorded on some root database as similar occurred to his agriculture pick ups that was used on tree and livestock farms.

Sorry but that’s a bit beyond me. New cars and imports are normally taxed via DVLA (new cars by dealers using the AFRL system).

When the V5 shows up it hopefully shows in the right class, if not a letter to DVLA should sort it.
