Car i d issues transferred plate

Hi Guys,i having another go at trying to i d my Metropolitan convertible, there are no chassis tags and the numbers that i do have come to no avail, however when i got the car the number plate was still attached to the car i have checked this number and it has been transfered to a Mercedes,at the time of transfering the plate the dvla would have issued a replacement plate for the metropolitan which i have no info, if i go to the dvla they would want a chassis number from the car they would have the details as the car would have had a current logbook, if i could get this info it would id the car with the chassis number, if anyone has any idea what i could do or any other ideas i would appriciate it i have tried car vertical also and they only give the date of transfer Happy Christmas!!!!

Contact the kits and rebuilds department at the DVLA and ask them to issue you with a new vin. Then get a dating letter and vehicle inspection from one of the approved owners clubs on the dvla list. Assuming everything is in order you should then be able to re-register the car on an age related late.
