Matra Murena or Bagheera
Discussion
A quick browse on both Murenas and Bagheeras shows very few were converted to RHD, which you probably know, so if I were you, I'd also be looking over the Channel for LHD cars too as there are going to be more cars to choose from (relatively speaking). IMHO of course.
This looks nice from Belgium:

Always liked the Murenas and think they've aged quite well.

long long time ago, I first owned a Matra Simca Bagheera and later a Matra Murena
they are still not expensive and some can be have cheep if you do some work to them.
also seen 2 Murena's that did an interior swap to make it a 2 seater instead of a 3 seater.
some have faster engine's and ow wide body, there is a specialist in the Netherlands, but I know you look for cars over there.
here the website of the Dutch specialist.

Can’t see I can post or pay for a wanted add so I’ll try here.
Looking for a Matra Murena 2.2 or Bagheera of either engine size.
U.K. based car in good condition.
If it is possible to py for a wanted ad mods make it a bit clearer and I can give you some money.
I have a Murena 2.2, but it has stood for a few years and would need a bit of work to get it back on the road.Looking for a Matra Murena 2.2 or Bagheera of either engine size.

I'm in Manchester if you are interested.
Amazing cars for their day but I don't envy you trying to find one which is in good condition. They've never had any kind of commercial following so few invested the money in them to keep them in good condition.
I've had a series 2 Bagheera and a 2.2 Murena. They were way ahead of their time. Could never understand the lack of UK enthusiasm for cars like those when people were going mad for crappy VWs and Fords but then again - most people don't buy on ability but on what the marketing tells them they should like.
I would say they are the kind of car that you need to buy when a good one comes to market rather than trying to hunt one down in the depths of winter. You might get lucky and this is as good a place to make your interest known.
I also don't understand why we don't see a wanted section - surely it would put private buyers in touch with private sellers, cutting out the unnecessary middle man dealer who is looking tofleece make a living out of both parties ensuring both gets the worst deal possible.
If you recognise the value of these cars then Alpine GTAs and A610s should be on your consideration list together with A110s also becoming very affordable with their prices recently in freefall and over 150 available whilst only a handful of buyers are looking for one but all of these are a lot more expensive to buy and run than a nice Murena.
Good luck in finding your next car.

Murenas and Bagheeras very seldom come up for sale in the UK, and a couple of Murenas i have looked at previously had suffered from the UK roads, despite the galvanised chassis.
I imported a late model Bagheera from the previously mentioned Dutch dealer a few years ago, drove it home to Kent, but that was pre Brexit so not sure how easy that would be now.
I love Bagheeras but with small engines and 4 speed gearboxes they are not as useable as the Murena. My current Murena is a 1.6 and bowls along nicely, i understand the 2.2 is not as robust and harder to get parts for. Or perhaps i'm just bitter !
I had a new head and general overhaul this year and all parts are available if you know where to look, even a recon head. I've been putting the interior overhaul off, imagine that will be more problematic. Cooling pipes are a weak point. And don't snap off the wing mirror.
I really don't know why they are not more popular, great cars and always a talking point with the 3 seats.
As I’ve mentioned I’ve owned a Murena before.
Very very pretty car.
Very comfortable too. It’s roomy and you can stretch you legs out. It makes it a great gt car.
The 2.2 engine is mediocre and my old one was an I remember the MECC getting very exercised over the idea of engine swap although that car really does lend itself to 190bhp with reasonable torque. The Duratec in fact.
The problem I’ll have is getting one without rust. They are galvanised but they are also 40 years old.
