That Cobra and I followed each other out of Rugby services today. I was in my 928.
It looked lovely.
Passed a couple of XJs on the M1, including a nice XJR 3.6. Assume they were heading the same way as they joined the M6 with me.
On the way down the A45 from Rugby I saw a dark blue E-Type moving rather swiftly and a yellow Mk3 Cortina estate on a low loader. It looked lovely.

Looking forward to going back tomorrow
P5BNiJ & FarmerJim, thanks for posting.
NiJ, was that first E-Type photo taken from inside that Avocado SD1 that's exhibited? The Avocado was, and perhaps still is, a very 'marmite' colour; I liked it and if polished/waxed well looked good, however, others weren't so keen on it and told me so

Yes it was - the avocado paint on the Rover is original with a few small touch ups here and there, and some folk have asked Jon the owner if he repainted that colour on purpose . I've driven it several times and it's a lovely old thing to be in. Most comments on it are positive (not just for the colour) but he does got the odd snarky one occasionally.NiJ, was that first E-Type photo taken from inside that Avocado SD1 that's exhibited? I've just got back and my feet are killing me, I'm going back tomorrow for some more sigh inducing self indulgence. Highlights for me were plenty this year - the rare and rather beautiful stuff on the Maserati club stand, the De Tomaso Mangusta and three Panteras, the two Gordon Keebles, the Jensen Interceptors, various Jags and Daimlers (some of which are for sale), the lime green and red Lotus Europas and the RHD Maserati Bora. I came home with four more Jag books I don't really need! More pics to come in a bit .

Any delightful FIATs Nij ?
Yes a few little lovelies - will post the pics as I get round to them. Didn't seem to be as many Italian cars as last year but what was there was very nice, including a (rare) RHD Maserati 3500GT and a (mega rare) Maserati 3500 Vignale Spider. Some pics from today to keep the ball rolling...
If you're attending for the first time, it's worth going along to the Meet the Experts Theatre in the corner of Hall 5 - I think it's 10am on Saturday - to hear Mike Brewer's little show intro. Also worth catching Dougie Lampkin's trials bike demo, again in Hall 5. Amazing! Car of the show? The 70s SM on the Citroen Owners' Stand. To my shame, no picture.

The Gordon Keeble and Marcos caught my eye in these photos. I'm hearing that the JDC have put on a good show too.
I had a long chat to the owner of the Red GK it had been modified quite a lot in his 40 year ownership. They were lovely carsGassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
