Was anyone else watching this live on YouTube today?

Only caught a few minutes here and there as was busy but seems like prices were low today ( and being sold not just subject to offer). They had a great selection of 80’s/90’s/00’ stock in their preview video on Thursday

It’s on again tomorrow …:

Not sure if this link will work tomorrow but shows today live feed.

I didn't watch it, but looking at some of the results some seem a little ott, 3k for an FSO, 8k for a 2cv

A bit of a curate's egg. Some amazed me, a Fiat Uno and 2CVs fetching good money, but quite a bit not making reserve. Some nice stuff there though, I had a pleasant time poking around on Friday.
I even succumbed and bought a cheapish run around.

Auctions have always been a lottery and have always thrown up surprises. They reflect fashion so some people struggle with adjustments to prices. Unlike houses, old car prices fluctuate much more wildly and someone who spent £100K on a E-type will often find it hard to accept not that many people want them anymore, other than at half that price. At the same time, people including me, are bemused by the idea of paying more than £2K for a 2CV. There's a bit of a generational change taking place at the moment but things will settle down.

That's a good point you make about the fluctuation of prices regarding the E Types and indeed the Mk2 . I am a regular at Kings Lynn though only the Classic Sales and I am often pleasantly surprised by what turns up there and its always a pleasant mainly local crowd . Having never owned a Bentley I have a hankering for a Continental GT though I wanted to know more about the recorded insurance claim . These can be a hard sell even when immaculate

Happy Days spent riding around Glasgow at 16 years of age back in the Seventies . A Kangol Open Face Helmet , an NCB Donkey Jacket and the obligatory " Tax Applied For " in the Holder . Great Days and no matter how much you wish , they aren't coming back . The Fizzy meant freedom .

I've heard of big bore kits but.....

"This 747cc FS1E, finished in its oh-so-Seventies shade of Popsicle Purple, has come from a private collection and is, in the opinion of the vendor, in ‘near Concours condition', although it will require some light recommissioning to be used on the road as it has lately been part of a static display in a heated building. The bike was registered in January 1975 and its last MoT expired in April 2018 after testing at an indicated 2547 miles. It is now MoT-exempt. Documentation accompanying the Yamaha includes the V5C green slip (only) and the 2017 MoT certificate. There's also a spare key as well. "

An Mg Zs180 made over £10k yesterday was a low mileage face lift
Model
And a Sierra estate 2.0 Ghia made an unbelievable result over £6k

And a Nissan prairie mk1 ( remember them? The boxy shape chicken shed on wheels model) made over £3k.

I thought the 924 S was cheap and the 1300GT fetched strong money, as for the Mk1 Astra GTE - 17k was high

For the same estimate you can have an RD400..I can hear and smell the engine as if it was yesterday!

I paid less than that for a pre registered one with delivery miles on back when they were current!

What’s the story with the FSO Polenez £3,132, I can’t believe one person was bidding on that POS, never mind two. Is it the ‘Festival of the Unexceptional phenomenon’

I know we all love classics for different reasons and each to their own and all that, but seriously, who would want to buy that?

It's the same as the 2CVs. Lifestyle. Look how much a Trabant makes these days.

An old Eastern Bloc car is so crap it's cool now.

Hardly think you can put it in the same bracket as a 2CV, which was masterpiece of engineering and is still held in very high regard by those in the automotive world.

The FSO, was a POS with no redeeming features, when it was introduced and still is.

In your opinion. Which is fine. Plenty of other people disagree with you.

And the little Trabant is right up there with the 2CV, arguably a better car too.

1988 the site forman bought a FSO Polonez for his wife, was quite enthralled with it.
Don't think the excitement lasted long.
