The chrome on my Riley's back bumper has seen better days but I've never had anything re-chromed before. Any recommendations based on experience of where I should enquire and any idea of cost?

I read yesterday of someone being quoted £1,000 for re-chroming a MGB bumper - gulp!

Castle Chrome in Dudley.

Have done three sets of bumpers for me and am pleased with the results, not so long after forgetting the price.

I can recommend Derby Plating without reservation - I've just had another batch of work done by them and the standard and service is simply first class. I'm a perfectionist and they always exceed expectations.

They only do classic car work and are recommended by the Rolls Royce club of GB so I guess that can be taken as a measure of their work.

No dearer than the next firm and, unlike others, they quote you and actually stick to it.

Good chorme plating is expensive mind.

I've also used Castle Chrome in Dudley, only for some door handles and small stuff for my car. A mate had some XK140 parts done there too, and is happy.

Personally I would not use A C F Howell ever again.
I have used Castle Chrome and their work is first class.
