It's both smoke grey and a basic Mini. No overriders on the bumpers or chrome inserts in the screen rubbers, non opening rear quarter windows and a really basic interior with just a single speedo. Rubber floor covering and they didn't even have the black vinyl trim on the dash rail. A heater was an extra.
I had such a beast in maroon, a 1965 Austin Mini that was spectacularly rotten. Most buyers ponied up for the Super Deluxe model for a few extra quid!

Yes it was my first car in 1977. Push button start on the floor, no synchro on 1st gear, cables to open the doors. Windscreen wipers that liked to sweep the bonnet rather than the screen. Fun times!I had such a beast in maroon, a 1965 Austin Mini that was spectacularly rotten. Most buyers ponied up for the Super Deluxe model for a few extra quid!
I'm building a model of it hence the colour query.
We were on an event with an unrestored '62 Mini a few weeks ago that looked like the first photo and I'm sure someone said it was Speedwell Blue. I'll have a look later to see if I have any photos.
ETA: here's crop from the best photo I have, unfortunately I didn't take one of the Mini alone:

Our '65 Mini (father's first new car) lasted about 10 years, had a replacement engine after about 5. This was with normal daily use. Thankfully things have moved onI'm building a model of it hence the colour query.
