Registering a 1970 VW from South Africa
Discussion
I have sitting in my shed a remarkably sound VW Type 2 Pick Up from South Africa. It runs and drives and with a little fettling (new tyres etc) is ready for the road. Thing is that's it's still on SA plates and I would like to register it here in UK. I have been supplied with the NOVA document. Is it a long, arduous process or relatively straightforward?
Thanks
Thanks
Not that difficult

If you don’t have a copy of the original SA registration documents then you will need a dating letter from an owners club to show the original build date.

This is the correct advice. I have imported a number of cars from SA over the last 15 years. https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk
