I have sitting in my shed a remarkably sound VW Type 2 Pick Up from South Africa. It runs and drives and with a little fettling (new tyres etc) is ready for the road. Thing is that's it's still on SA plates and I would like to register it here in UK. I have been supplied with the NOVA document. Is it a long, arduous process or relatively straightforward?

Thanks

I don't really know but my guess based on having reregistering cars after private plates have been removed is that it won't be that difficult.

Not that difficult

If you don’t have a copy of the original SA registration documents then you will need a dating letter from an owners club to show the original build date.

As said, need a DVLA acceptable certificate of age....

I think its more accurately described as a Type 2 bakkie.

Its a relatively easy process, but you need to make sure the forms are correctly filled in, otherwise you'll waste two weeks whilst it gets rejected.

When I registered my NOVA'd BSA I just needed a dating certificate from the owners club, the NOVA cert and an MOT (though given the age you won't need the last one).

This is the correct advice. I have imported a number of cars from SA over the last 15 years.
