Octane - Classic car guide 2023
Discussion
I've just seen this for the first time today.
I usually find these things are a waste of time. Lots of detail errors and pricing which is way off real world.
Having a quick scan - this looks like a pretty good attempt at what must be a very difficult task.
I was sent it through Readly. Annoyingly, I'm struggling to find it if I search for it.

Hopefully this works: https://go.readly.com/magazines/5f6481badccea05a95...or try by searching "Classic Car Price Guide"
I got given a copy of this at the last Footman James Sunday meeting at Chateau Impney last month. Handy for reference and covers really obscure stuff like Clan, ISO and Facel Vega but I reckon the values are a bit overblown compared to real world classic auction sale results.
There are also some obvious omissions such as Austin Princess (or Leyland 'Princess') but the very rare Wolseley 18/22 equivalent is in there. Also, the MG Metro is referenced but not the 'cooking' Austin Metro. The Rootes 'Hillman' Mix and Hunters are absent too. The humble Vauxhall Chevettes and Cavaliers are in there but no Calibra. It's not an age thing, the Jaguar S type and BMW Mini are in there. I'm sure there are others.

Practical Classics responded to my request to add the Fiat Tempra to their price guide about 5 / 6 years ago. The editor initially said that they had insufficient data (it being rare, which does not always translate into valuable ) but it appeared on the guide 12 months later.
It used to be free to access and published 2 or 3 times a year with up or down trends marked, I saved Sept 2022. But they've recently (as in some time this year ) put it behind a subscription / pay wall:

I have to admit I had been pleasantly surprised it had been free up to now!

This kind of publication really has limited use in printed media. Is there an online up to date equivalent which reflects current pricing and can be updated to correct errors and omissions?
Agreed, it is good for facts and figures, production numbers etc but values change all the time. Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
