You have to be kidding!
Unfortunately not....lets be 100%, it is a very very nice looking car, however, this is over double (and then £10k on top) of the highest price I have seen before for a 1600E and that was/is a concours car. This car was purchased by this Dealer from a private individual (well known in Cortina circles) I wonder what he got for it...as they won't be taking just a £2k profit...
I actually don't like that one, it is massively over restored, the ones I have owned over the years never looked like that!
Paint was always poor, hardly anything underneath or in the boot etc. These cars were crap new, doors never, ever fitted in the hole!!
Saying all that, I loved them, if they would have come with a rack rather than a box they would have been superb. Anti tramp bars as standard, upgraded brakes Calipers to the front rather than rear (?) I think etc etc. My last one was Black Cherry which was the colour to have in my opinion

No, has to be Aubergine for me!! My last one was Black Cherry which was the colour to have in my opinion
That one looks to be sitting high at the front to my eye.
The price may well be an accurate reflection of the restoration cost, but will anyone pay it??

Someone bumped another thread with a link to this advert and I think it's f*cking hysterical.Kim
As you say, "What something costs and what it's worth are 2 completely different things" - wouldn't mind a toot on whatever crack pipe this vendor has.

You could buy a Mk2 Lotus for half that price.
I dare say that car will be a part of the chit-chat at the local car meet Thursday, at Redhill village hall.
I agree a very very nice Lotus can be purchased for much less and will always be worth more?I dare say that car will be a part of the chit-chat at the local car meet Thursday, at Redhill village hall.
