Here's a picture from 1980 that I came across today taken looking over Doncaster Station.

Anyone know what the white car on the left hand side is with only the rear visible, 6th car from the bottom. Looks exotic for the time.

Yes it looks like one of those Datsun coupes to me. 120Y?

Any survivors probably rarer than a Khamsin these days, if not quite so valuable...

Definitely a Datsun 120Y Coupe.

Although, bizarrely, I think there is a Renault 17 poking into shot in a similar way further up the picture, in what appears to be yellow.

Possible but I'm not convinced. The lines both above and below the window look too straight and the side window arrangement doesn't appear to have a break between the 2 glass panes. It also appears a bit pointier.

Interesting - I don't remember the Renault 17 but it appears to match.

You might be thinking of the Sunbeam Rapier. I thought of that too and did a google. But I don't think it's one of those, doesn't quite match.

Gut feeling is Datsun 120Y as above.

Definitely not a Khamsin or anything else exotic, look at the wheels they’re titchy.

The mid-late '70s were a low point in car design, IMO. So much sheer junk around at that time. All the cool stuff from the late '60s was on the way out, and all the cool stuff for the '80s was still in development.

My instant gut identification was Datsun 120Y Coupe.
Shadows and poor focus probably accounts for the apparent sharper rear window.
