Can a Rover P6 Survive a Nuclear Holocaust?
Discussion
Well no car is going to survive being close to a nuclear blast, but the farther you move out in the blast radius and physical survival is more likely - and then a P6 (or any other car of that or earlier vintage) becomes more likely to survive than more modern fare, as there are no micro electronics to get fried by the EMP radiation.
There was a sci-fi movie from the 1990s that featured a lot of Rover P6s. Struggled to find it at first, it was Gattaca (Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman).
They'd been supposedly 'converted' to run as electric vehicles, good prediction, I expect a few restos of this type soon. A pretty car with bolt on panels to a central chassis, they'd be easier to convert than some.

And here's me thinking only cockroaches and Nissan Micras will survive the end of times.
Also in films, citroen DS seem to feature regularly sometimes converted to flying as well.
Weird really – in reality they drop to the ground at slightest provocation. Also in films, citroen DS seem to feature regularly sometimes converted to flying as well.

It's an idea I've been kicking around for some time – inspired by Gattaca. It's the only electric conversion I really fancy. Spacious and safe, and apart from the V8 the engine isn't really part of the attraction. They'd been supposedly 'converted' to run as electric vehicles, good prediction, I expect a few restos of this type soon.
