Can anyone help with a wedding car - Derbyshire
Discussion
Firstly, I am not comfortable asking this but have seen PH come through many times before so am giving it a go.
My fiancée and I always planned to get married abroad in a couple of years, with only ourselves at the ceremony and then a party/celebration back home with friends and family. Life rarely goes to plan and my dad has a terminal cancer diagnosis and was given 3-9 months in October. He is still fighting on but time is obviously limited. Mum recently told us that he would like to see us get married, which I never realised, and in light of this we have decided to get married in an intimate ceremony in June, with just my parents, sister and 2 friends present.
My dad is and has always been massive car fan and has owned 50+ cars in his time, including MGBs, Datsun 240z, Capri RS3100, Escort Mexicos etc. I would love to have a special classic car on the day, which I could drive him to the venue in (or be driven in). Unfortunately, it is terrible timing finance-wise as we recently paid for a new kitchen, and I can't afford to spend £500 on a classic car + the other small costs that add up even with an intimate civil ceremony. If I could go back in time and not do the kitchen so I could do this instead I would, but that's not an option unfortunately.
So, to the point, is there anyone who might be able to help with a suitable vehicle on a weekday? I am not pleading poverty, we are very lucky to earn well and I'm happy to pay what I can. It is just terrible timing and poor planning on my part. If it isn't possible, I will drive him in my Discovery 3, which he tells me is his favourite car of mine (more so than the Mustang, Focus RS, M140i etc.), which I know he will love regardless.
Thanks for reading.
ETA: We are getting married in a registry office in order to keep costs down, I would hate anyone to think I am just a freeloader trying his luck. But I will stretch to dinner for anyone that can help biggrin

If you know there is a particular type of car your dad would like, try approaching the relevant owners' club.
That is a good call - thank you.Oldwolf said:
Also the actual date might help as a lot of PH is going to Le Mans in June
Good luck and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
I don't have a date yet as still awaiting confirmation, but it's looking like the last 2 weeks of June, so fingers crossed.Good luck and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
