Seconded, a beautiful car. Lotus Elans were one of my late dad's favourites too - he owned/competed in several Lotus Cortinas but always admired the Elans. (I don't think he could fit in one as he was too tall!)

Lovely thing, my dad had a blue and silver one with the 5 speed can still remember the smell of the interior and all the gauges and switches ( loads of switches!)

What’s it like to drive ?

The aftermarket wheels don't suit it, but other than that very nice indeed!

Gratuitous pic of my old S130. Disappeared not long after I sold it to a chap in the Lake District.

Wolfrace slot-mags wheels were a popular (and reasonably affordable) retro-fit on sports cars back then - if you owned a TR6 they were virtually mandatory! So, from my perspective they don't detract aesthetically or reduce originality whatsoever. I always lusted for a set of centre-lock Minilites on my baby Elan - but the necessary budget wasn't there !

I think the wheels look great on the +2 - as do the period chrome door mirrors. What a great car.

PS - just reassure me you have a fire extinguisher tucked away somewhere in the car (based on bitter experience).

The Minilite option didn't look too shabby on a +2 either :

…and don't forget that early production Esprits wore Wolfraces also :

Chapman apparently thought that the Wolfies made the Esprit look "too kit car" so these were replaced by Speedlines and then BBS rims.

We've had it since 1982 and its never had a fire extinguisher in it. I also have the original Dunlop style alloys but tbh I prefer the Wolfrace.

My GT6 had slot mags on when I bought it. Not Wolfrace, but Appliance as it turns out (after much research).

Personally, I don't like them on the car, so I changed to Cosmics:

I think the slot mags look better on bigger cars, particularly American iron. Mine are on eBay at the moment.
