Gilbern GT spotted in Burnley
Discussion
06:45 yesterday morning whilst walking the dog I spotted a grey Gilbern GT with a Webasto type sunroof turning onto Lakeland Way in Burnley. Looked like driver and passenger off for an adventure on what was a gorgeous spring morning. I’ve lived in that area of Burnley for 25 years and in Burnley all my life and can’t remember seeing it before. Anyone on here know anything about it? Didn’t manage to snap a picture unfortunately.
And two Gilbern GTs spotted in my garage!
Of the 202 built the owners club known/estimate of those it can account for is approx. 100, a good survival rate.
Production started in '59 using A series engines, a few of which were supercharged, by '63 the B series was being used, and accounted for the lion's share of production, and along the way the Ford V4 went into a couple of cars, MGA engines went into a couple, a one-off was fitted with a Coventry Climax and also a one-off with a Chevy small block.

This programme was broadcasted earlier this week, it includes some good archive clips.
