I remember when I was a kid, going to the local Vauxhall dealer every couple of years with my dad when it was time for him to choose a new company car.

Nothing more joyous than exploring the latest and greatest cars they had to offer as a child in the early and mid 90's. Going round and scooping up all the glossy car brochures to flick through whilst my dad configured his car.

Today, whilst idly looking through ebay I spotted an old brochure for sale and got me looking online for more.

Lo and behold I find this site:

https://autocatalogarchive.com/index-brand/

Vauxhall - https://autocatalogarchive.com/vauxhall/?page_id=1... - my dads company had the best deal with them until around 1999 when Mercedes started competing and offering comparable deals!

It's taken me right back to my childhood and has been a nice little escape from adult life for a while. Hope others enjoy too!

Outstanding find

Check out this gem of a line from the '87 Escort RS Turbo brochure, referring to the interior:

"Gone are the days when high-performance cars offered little more luxury than a medieval hermit's cell"

I mean......you just don't get sales schpiel like that anymore biggrin

Brilliant find.

Reading the brochure for my Dad's 1980's Vauxhall Cavalier - "wide 195/60 low profile radials" - from an era when 195 was considered a wide tyre and 60 was low profile hehe

This is awesome. Can I please have your postal address to send the bill for my imminent divorce.

Fantastic, just looking up my old 3 series. Bought in 1998, only sold a couple of years ago due to ULEZ.

Was still my daily.

Great find, love to spend time looking at stuff like this.

There is a guy on Twitter who 'specialises' in old car brochures and posts the content on a fairly random basis, but even the most mundane is fascinating to read.

Reminds me of my very first own car - a Vauxhall Nova Merit Saloon in Gazelle Beige - fk me that was a fanny magnet.

That's great.

No brochure for the Honda Insight (UK). The US one is pretty nostalgic though.

Sounds very like my childhood too! Remember our local Vauxhall dealer also had a Lotus centre so we got to drool over the Esprits that were often rotated into the main showroom among the more mundane cars! Always left with armfuls of glossy brochures - time to start my virtual collection biggrin

Sadly no Lotus centre at the one we went to so had to live with Carlton GSi3000's, cavalier turbos and Senators!

I remember thinking my 1990 Uno 45 was quite slow back in the day, but still able to keep up with traffic and quite enjoyable.

0-60 in 17.9 seconds! crikey!

It did however have a "Choke device for reliable cold starting", apparently biggrin

Nice find - was having a look at my first car, a Peugeot 106 PH2 - I had absolutely no idea there was an EV version!
