Piper P2 at Brands Hatch

Saw this Piper (P2?) at Brands hatch on Tuesday. Very nice condition.

I'd never heard of these until a few days ago, but as a coincidence, there's a 1976 P2 in red at a H+H online auction at the moment. Starting at £18k, no bids yet and it ends on 12th April:

Not sure if that's a P2 the yellow one, the lights are pop-up.

Purposeful and just beautiful, I would love to drive that home.

I know nothing about Pipers, but quick Googling suggests it's a P2. (Apparently) the P2 could have either pop-up headlights or twin faired-in headlights. The earlier cars had single faired-in headlights. Plus the yellow car seems to have the P2's Dolomite rear lights.

But who knows, perhaps a real Piper aficionado will comment? whatever, an impressive little car!
