Yet ANOTHER what car ........
Discussion
I’m guessing that the car featured is the 1974 Earls Court Motor Show car - in which case I’ve sat in it…
My first year in London as a student. This scruffy somewhat spotty teenager toured all the stands of the sporty/interesting marques but the welcome was generally somewhere between cool and frosty. However the day was saved by the lads at Strada who took pity on me and let me sit in their car.
By all accounts it was a well engineered car, like an overgrown F. Ford clothed in a (being a bit polite here) ” futuristic” body.
Colin Chapman made a point of congratulating the Strada team but unfortunately the car would join the ranks of “what-ifs”.
Incidentally, it was initially going to be called the Puma but FoMoCo stepped forward having already registered the name.

I have a particular interest in the TVR stand as I have the 1974 TVR 3000ML show car.
Sorry, no.
That I scraped together the money for a tube ticket from Fulham and then five Bob (or whatever) for admission was a minor miracle. I probably had to go without food/Youngs Special for days afterwards as a consequence. Definitely no camera.
Incidentally if you see a suggestion of TR7 in the upper deck of the Strada - that is no coincidence as the bodywork was designed by Harris Mann.
The motor show car was powered by a cooking Mexico engine but I seem to remember the guys had plans for an uprated (2L) Pinto engine. It could have worked - a Panther Solo for the 1970s…..

Completely O/T but why do they do that? Its put me right off some brands that I'll never buy because of a brush-off in 1983.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
