Here is your next project, located in my home town, unfortunately being well into my dotage this is too big a job for me.
Every day is a school day, I did not realize that Ginetta were in Campsea Ash in a previous life.

My dad worked on a farm in Wickham market in the 50s and he sort of knew (well to talk to) a couple of the walklett brothers - he's pointed out where he remembers their premises were near the station

Blimey, I missed that. There are a few about still. If I didn't have so much to do I'd be bidding for it!

The Fairlite is not so well known as it was never advertised as a Ginetta, but a bodyshell to fit to Ford 8hp and 10hp chassis - the bodyshell cost was 49 quid. It was advertised in car mags at the time and sold as a Walklett Bros. product.

To prove they made quite a lot of them, here's a pic at Campsea Ashe in 1960, although most of these pictured are 'Ginetta G3' which was more a proper 'car' with a hardtop. What many don't realise is Ivor Walklett had been working on the next car in line (the Ginetta G4) almost from the word go.
