There are currently 2 Tridents going for auction v8 on the market and a yellow v6 on car and classic This one was auctioned eaflier this year and then resold. Current owner appears to have had the car for 5 minutes. Has anyone ever driven one of these they look stunning but what is the catch?

They are very low volume (they were going to be a TVR before TVR went bust at that time, & moulds were 'appropriated' by Trident), so potential low development budget issues, quality control & some parts may be difficult to replace.Owners club states only 19-25 left running in the world, from 55 left they know of, & 80+ produced. I've only ever seen one on the road.
They may be difficult to sell on as so rare. I think there are only 5 TVR versions in existence (red colour RHD version similar to this recently sold). I can't tell you about handling comparisons etc.
That said, owners may have sorted out issues over time, so you'd have to buy on condition etc.
The V6 one is for sale at the garage in the village where my dad lives - been there since the summer I stopped to have a look through the window then - if I could afford it I would have it just to own a car built in the town where I live (Ipswich-think some were also built in Woodbridge) - a few owners brought theirs to Ipswich a few years ago for the annual Ipswich to Felixstowe Road run so saw 5 or 6 together then
Just found a photo I took on 2 August - it was up for £27000 then - 5 months later its £29500 on the Web!

Indeed you are right, some in Woodbridge and then to Ipswich, built of course by the late Bill Last who was a great guy who treated me well when I needed help but was derided by some over the Trident project; but I always speak as I find.Just found a photo I took on 2 August - it was up for £27000 then - 5 months later its £29500 on the Web!

The yellow V6 is still for sale in Barrow, just outside Bury St Edmunds, at £29000. I had a look at it a few months ago; it has a magnificent service history but is rough around the edges, has a really grotty Webasto roof and is tatty inside. I have always loved the shape of these and could have been tempted had the price been more reasonable and, given the time that it's been for sale, I guess a lot of other people have thought the same.

This garage has some quite tasty cars but always charge premium prices, I live quite near so often pop in for a nose around.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
